Minutes of November 14, 2005, ARAB meeting

Called to order by Vice President Edith Poole at 7:15  p. m. at the home of Lorry Wagner.  Members in attendance:  Jerry Challenor &  Edith Poole.  

October minutes approved as corrected (Gloria Tucker corrected to Gloria Turner).

Treasurer’s report accepted as presented.   

OLD BUSINESS 

Interest Survey:  Lorry gave a report on the Interest Survey that was sent to her by Denise Gorman.   

Membership:  Lorry reported that there have been 3 renewals plus Lorry’s life membership to date. 

NEW BUSINESS   

Elections:  There being no nominations from the floor for any office, the following slate was accepted by acclimation.

  President:  Open 
  Vice President:  Edith Poole
  Secretary:  Open
  Treasurer:  Jerry Challenor
  Public   Open

 Lorry will send updated information to AHA. 

2005 AHA Resolutions for Convention:  Lorry went over the 23 resolutions to be presented at the 2005 AHA Convention being held in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 16—19, 2005.  Discussion and input was given to Lorry for basis for voting on these resolutions at Convention.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

Meet New ARAB Members

W. A. "Wink" Chappell Memorial Award

Bill "Wink" Chappell grew up with and learned to train from some of the finest Vaqueros in the West during the 1920's and 30's.  ARAB established this award to honor "Wink" who, in partnership with Lorry Wagner, established the first public training stables in this area in 1964.
